Pistacho De Los Andes

High-performance Andean production

Our farms

A 300-hectare production hub at the foothills of the Andes, dedicated to the sustainable cultivation of Argentine pistachios under technical management and international quality standards.

Los principios

Located 75 km from the city of San Juan, in the southern area of the 25 de Mayo department, lies Los Principios farm. With it, Pistachos de los Andes (Agro de Cuyo S.A.) was born. The farm is situated in Punta del Agua, a region known for its excellent agroclimatic conditions for pistachio cultivation.

The first plantations were established in 1998, using Pioneer rootstock and the Kerman variety as the main producer, with Peters as the pollinator. Covering an area of 75 hectares, the farm is currently in full production, achieving yields that meet international pistachio quality standards.

Los Principios is the farm that has allowed us to learn and specialize in this crop, guiding our current decision-making. We produce pistachios sustainably and with high organoleptic quality, taking advantage of the unique characteristics of the Punta del Agua area, whose soils provide a distinctive flavor profile that defines our product.

LA PERSEVERANCIA

Established in 2015, this farm is located to the east of “Los Principios.” It is the first farm we developed from seed to fruit, using our own UCB1 rootstocks grown from certified UCB-1 seeds imported from the United States. Going through the entire process allowed us to deepen our knowledge and management of the plant material.

We use the same planting scheme as in our first farm, with a 6 m x 5 m spacing and the Kerman variety as the main producer, with Peters as the pollinator. It covers an area of 75 hectares and is currently in its early years of production.

This second farm reflects the lessons learned from many years of experience in pistachio cultivation and the achievement of a new challenge: nursery plant production. We have high expectations of seeing it reach its maximum yields with UCB1 rootstock. It will be one of the first farms in the country to enter production using this material.

La escondida

In this third farm, also located in Punta del Agua and neighboring the previous farms, we have applied all our experience and knowledge gained in pistachio cultivation. It was planted between 2021 and 2022, and we expect to begin production in 2027. With 150 hectares, it doubles the production area of Pistachos de Los Andes. We designed a 6 x 4 m planting layout, allowing us to increase productivity by 25%.

We use UCB1 rootstock plants produced in our nursery from certified seeds imported from the United States, grafted with Kerman as the main producer and Peters as the pollinator.
